I would like to call these works of art... blob 2 through 6

Here are more clay models. I'm trying to work on the not-so-literal architecture process and look forward to models 7 through ...20? Can't wait until tomorrow.

Clay Modeling...

So...

Here is my first architectural clay model. I think this scale is a little too big to model these efficiently. I am going to reduce the upcoming models to 1/64" instead of the depicted 1/32".

A New Experience

Ted, thank you for further insight to mapping my experience. I've created a new map! I start at my home and research the product. I usually have a pre-conceived location where I want to buy my new iProduct and that is depicted by the store at the end of my road. Columbus, Ohio is depicted on the left as I travel around and through these buildings to acquire my new product. The signs show decision making. The left one is features and selection, the other a detour opportunity to order my product from the internet instead of driving to a location. My road starts out as ones and zeros as I usually research products online or through commercials transmitted to my DirecTV satellite. It quickly transforms into what we typically see as a road (possibly changing to something else yet before I arrive in Boston.) Most of my travel is Freeway bound. I have indicated distance by placing numerical representations of off-ramps to other neighborhoods and major roads. The importance is time and relationship to my home where I can enjoy my new iProduct. Please let me know any reactions to this new image as I will be working on it again Friday to finish some loose ideas.

Any Product, Anywhere...but it's MY product.

Here is the culmination of my earlier sketches. This is a map of anywhere in the United States, or somewhere in your city. The idea encompasses all specific processes in purchasing my new iProduct from Apple, Inc.

. : The Concept : .

I am constantly evaluating the process and personalization one will take to purchase their "own" iProduct and how that makes it/them look or feel different from every other visually established iProduct identity. I have developed a "map" that, I feel, represents how big or small your experience with Apple, Inc. can be graphically expressed. One has many directions they can take in the attempt to acquire an iProduct using various means to get there. To me this isn't a line or distance, but rather a concept of experience.

. : My Start : .

I was inspired by our solar system, fireworks and coral plants. The common simularity between these are their inter-connecting relations and physics to elements within themselves. I have placed "you" in the center of my map because "you" are reaching out from your own personality to discover the complimenting iProduct that will keep "you" individual.

. : My Map : .

This represents the experience of "you" researching, selecting, obtaining , and receiving that product as it exists around "you" from anywhere that is identified as a possibility to meet your individuality. The third dimension represents time and distance from "you" to the ideal product you seek.

: : continued : :

I imagine myself sitting within a galaxy of products. These products, whether desired or not, interact with me every day as I see others who have discovered and obtained them as an extension of their own individuality. I am aware of a product’s existence through advertising and through second-hand experience with co-workers, friends, and family who may already own the product.

I have devised a system of nesting petals that represent the relationship of products, their availability, their proximity, and your individual selection and desire to own them, all of which are in a constant state of flux. In theory, each petal rotates around a central axis - “you” - and represents the galaxy of products enveloping you at any given moment. The satisfaction of all four requirements above and “you” at the same location will result in a successful purchase of your individual iProduct.

The red petal represents products and their availability to you.

The blue petal represents the availability of products at various locations. When the blue availability petal extends outside the red product petal, certain locations are lacking inventory of the selected product you desire at that moment.

The green and yellow petals describe interest in the product through means of research and desired features. When all four petals overlap, the perfect product is available at a location with your desired features. This represents the four criteria required to purchase the perfect product.

“You” are the orange petal at the center with various avenues to explore, experience and ultimately obtain your desired iProduct. In this respect, you are seated at the center of a galaxy of products.

Examples
(1) The outside-most red petal’s edges that do not overlap are the products still in development by the company, Apple, Inc. These are such things as the iPup, your robot companion dog that plays music while you jog.

(2) The blue and red petals overlapping one another, signifies products on the market available in stores or through online purchase.

(3) The position where all four petals, or requirements, are met to obtain your individual iProduct.

. : Galaxies Collide : .

The individuality of your mapped experience interacts with others who have experienced their own galaxy of products and desires. Similar interest in a product can lead to the simultaneous meeting of two individuals at the same product, at the same time, in the same location, resulting in one person’s satisfaction and the other’s consequential change in direction.

My same concept of space and time...a little twisted

After much research of the linked articles to our studio site and several sketches I have transformed the original graph I posted to these sketches and ultimately, the final sketch. Bear with me to more completely consummate this idea until tomorrow night and I hope you will be intrigued by my revelations...

The above diagram will soon be represented in 3 dimensions with shade/color variations describing you, research, products, stores, time, location, shipping, distance, space, relationship, availability, and research and development.

Map My iPurchase

Here is a sketch I've started translating time and actions into a graphic representation. This represents time and process as one would first realize their need for an Apple product to when it finally arrives.
